Pilates for Beginners

Depending on your level of fitness and your personal goals, you will be introduced to the Pilates exercise principles and the apparatus – the Reformer, the Cadillac, the Mat, the Barrel and the Chair. The Pilates equipment offers support, wonderful stretches and particular challenges, but sometimes,self- motivated people prefer to learn a routine without it, which they can practise at home.
It usually doesn’t take long for people to comment on how much more conscious they are of their posture and what a discovery it is to become aware of what in Pilates training is called the “powerhouse“ – the large muscles in the lower trunk and upper thighs.
And not only do Pilates exercises strengthen and stretch the muscles, they can help to increase concentration, coordination, and balance as well.
I have worked with beginners between ages 15 and 89 - Pilates training is endlessly adaptable!
Pilates helps me to let go of the tension in my shoulders and to focus – I am too restless to do yoga, but with Pilates you are constantly moving and there are not a lot of repetitions.

After only 3 lessons people were telling me I looked taller and straighter.

Pilates makes me stronger, but not tense. It reaches all parts of the body and the stretches are just the best!
